Animation: The Heart
For this animation, I was inspired by a short film called “FLOATING IN MY MIND.” I really liked the simplicity of this animation. For my animation, I wanted to create a story of my perspective on how our heart works. I feel like as humans, we tend to open our hearts for people when they do the things we loved. But at the same time, they will also hurt us when they do the things we hated. In the end, it’s up to you to lock your heart or unlock it and be open again. This was my first time creating an animation using only Photoshop. It was very challenging to draw each frame and being consistent. It was difficult to draw similar things over and over again. It takes a lot of time and patient to create beautiful and consistent animation. I learned that creating an animation is a lot harder than it looks. I still need a lot of practice to create a better animation. However, I had a lot of fun while creating this short animation using simple drawing and typography.

After I finished drawing many frames then I realized it was inconsistent. It turned out horribly. I was so frustrated how’d it turned out, so I decided to ask my friend for help. He suggested that I draw a guide to make the drawings consistent. After I tried his techniques, it worked tremendously.
There are a couple new things I learned from using Photoshop. 1. Command + A = select all 2. Command + L = levels 3. Command + U = hue and sat 4. Using right brushes are very important |
